So hello guys welcome to the Technoshe tech blogs, we are dedicated to you simply providing the latest tech blogs. Let us go in…

Motorola Edge 50 Pro Specifications

Design, Built Quality and Hands-on experience

The design and in-hand feel of the phone is very similar to the Moto Edge series. So the Motorola Edge 50 Pro’s back finish is very impressive like it has a luxurious Silicon vegan leather finish. This finish has become the majority of the popularity of Motorola’s phones.

You are getting a metal frame which is insane considering its price point. It is a lightweight phone as Moto has improved from previous bulky Edge phones. Additionally, it has a triple-camera setup with a squarish camera bump. Overall, the back of the phone is impressive but not an innovative design but it keeps the classic Moto Edge design.

Also, it has a curved display which looks beautiful but is not helpful in practical use. I mean you should but curved only if you can take care of it seriously. Because they can easily be broken and finding tempered glass is a bit difficult for it. I still remember the first Moto Edge phone was the most curved phone ever made in the industry. As a result, this device was more experimentally modelled not for daily use.

Display details in depth

On the front side of the phone, you will get a 6.7-inch FHD(1.5k) pOLED display which has a resolution of 1220×2712 pixels. It has a 144HZ refresh rate display that feels super smooth. The display quality is very high and you will be able to experience crisp and vibrant colours (1 billion colours) while watching content. The viewing experience becomes more enjoyable due to the slim and uniform bezels.

In terms of brightness, it has 2000 nits of brightness which is a good number. But trust this is enough brightness for indoor as well as for outdoor usage.

Also, the display supports HDR 10 +, enhancing the overall content watching. You can watch a high dynamic range and the colour pops out which looks amazing. The Moto Edge 50 Pro has an in-display fingerprint sensor which is fast and at a comfortable location.

Also, it has a loud dual speaker and the bass quality is great. It also supports Dolby Atmos which is now a common feature in today’s device. In settings, you will find different audio options like Spatial audio and smart mode. The Spatial mode makes the overall sound like you are in a cinema hall.

Software Support and Battery Life

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes with Android 14 out of the box. You are getting 3 years of software updates and 4 years of security updates. Interestingly, it now comes with a new UI skin called as Hello UI. This UI is new and not optimized at a good level but gets optimised over time by updates. So there are some new changes which are listed as:

  • It has kept the stock Android experience which is clean and minimal.
  • The booting animation has an interesting new style.
  • The setting page is also new presenting as minimal and good fonts.
  • Motorola has advertised their new AI feature which is wallpaper theming. This is not a new feature, OnePlus has already done that.
  • It generates 4 wallpaper from a photo through an AI feature called as wallpaper theming.
  • Also, the control panel is changed with two options 1. Stock 2. New style. The new control panel easily adopt Android material UI theming.
  • You can tap on the back to launch any app with the quick launch.

The battery life depends on usage to usage. The Motorola Edge 50 Pro has a 4500mAh battery capacity with 125W charging speed. See the phone’s battery capacity is enough, and the battery consumption depends on the user and how he/she uses the phone. On normal usage, the device can last up to 1 day easily. The 125W charging speed is enough to charge the phone under 18 minutes so you don’t have to worry about slow changes at all. Also, it supports wireless charging up to 50W which is incredible.

Motorola Edge 50 Pro Performance

In the performance section, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 with 8 or 12 Gigs of RAM. This is the same processor that is used in the OnePlus Nord CE 4. Performance mainly depends on how you will use the device. There 2 types of users, one is who only do basic purpose tasks such as content consumption, camera things, social media and video editing. Second is gamers who do only gaming but do all basic things.

For gamers, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is no doubt a powerful chipset. This chipset scores almost 8.4 lakh Antutu score which is a balanced score in the mid-segment. I mean this is a mid-segment chipset that runs BGMI at 60FPS and 40FPS at the highest settings. Call of Duty Warzone Mobile runs this significantly but COD Warzone Mobile isn’t optimized even for flagship phones too. But I can say that it can run all games at possible settings.

Warzone Mobile

For those users who do basic things then why not this mid-segment phone do all things? As I say those who want to experience a Motorola phone, especially the Edge series. This phone better stands for an all-rounder mid-segment phone.

Overall, the performance is excellent enough to handle all tasks, but it might heat up and degrade its performance on heavy tasks. But the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will not disappoint you in daily tasks. But if you are looking for a true gaming phone then it’s better to go with OnePlus 12R.

Camera Performance in Short

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is equipped with a triple camera setup with a 50MP Panoramic Main camera with OIS, 13MP Ultra-Wide which acts as well as a Macro lens, and a 10MP 3X telephoto lens. It can zoom up to 30X hybrid. A special term is Pantone Validated color which means the captured photo will be close to natural colours. I mean the skin tone will be more closely to be in natural colour. It produces accurate colour close to real life even when zooming it keeps a sharp image and holds details.

In low-light conditions, it performs decently with accurate colour, keeping natural skin tone, and with minimal noise. It controls good lightning in night mode. But that’s with the primary camera but don’t expect from ultra-wide lens. The ultra-wide lens does more noisy shots that are unusable in night conditions.

Coming to the video recording capabilities, it captures 4k 30FPS without OIS and 1080P 60FPS with OIS. You can record video decently like for normal tasks such as capturing some moments or might for Instagram reels. It also comes with AI Stabilization which focuses on the subject and it does not well it sometimes loses focus on the subject. For front camera recording ya that 4k 30FPS is all for the front camera. I mean finally, a device that can record 4k through a front camera that is apreciatable.

Overall, the camera performance is excellent but it doesn’t meet the flagship camera performance at all. It can be the best mid-range camera phone that does all types of photography without any kind of exposure or saturated images. It captures shots close to natural life colour. If you are looking for a camera phone that does all types of photography then is a decent choice.

The Conclusion

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro offers an attractive mid-range package with a premium design, excellent display, fast charging, and a versatile camera. However, unoptimized software, an average ultrawide camera, and outdated storage/RAM technology hold it back from true greatness.

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is a great choice for users who want a stylish phone with a smooth display, long battery life, and a good camera. But if you prioritize cutting-edge performance, the latest technology, or top-tier cameraphone capabilities, you may want to explore other options.
