The Oppo Find N2 flip is the company’s first affordable phone that is available globally. This compact phone is similar to the Galaxy Z flip. Oppo has already released the Find Den and Find N2 phones, but they were only available in China. The Find N2 flip takes things international and is Oppo’s first foldable phone with a compact flip design.

The Design
The clamshell design of the Oppo Find N2 flip is almost identical to Samsung’s Galaxy Z flip, but there are some differences. The most notable difference is the large outer cover display, which is used when the screen is folded. It’s a 3.3-inch AMOLED with a 720p resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Compared to other flip phones on the market, this is the largest outer display. The Huawei P50 Pocket’s outer screen is only one inch, and even the Moto Razer 2022’s cover display falls a bit short at 2.7 inches. The larger screen should bring more utility, but aesthetically, the large size may not be quite as elegant.
Another difference between the Find N2 flip and the Galaxy Z flip is the hinge design. Oppo calls this a new generation flexion hinge, which is rated for over 200,000 actuations and can support the phone at any angle between 5 and 110 degrees. The hinge is different from Samsung’s, and it allows the Find N2 flip to fold flat with no gap in between the two halves. The crease where it folds over is much more subtle here and hard to notice unless you’re looking for it.

The design of the Find Den 2 flip comes from the same mold as the other flip phones on the market. The Moonlight Purple colorway is rather glossy, though the Astral Black option has a frosted finish. The wavy pattern on the hinge, together with the Oppo logo, is the only accent. However, what you won’t get with this phone is the IP rated waterproofing. The Galaxy flip remains the only phone with that kind of protection.
Twin Display
Now let’s talk about the Find N2 flip’s inner display. It’s a 6.8-inch foldable AMOLED with a 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. This display is sharp, and the colors are quite accurate, with support for HDR10+. The brightness is impressive, with a maximum of 550 nits measured with a manual slider. In auto mode, it can boost to over 1,000 nits in bright sun. The inner display can remain at 120Hz to smooth out your swiping and scrolling, and it can dial down when idling to save energy. The phone comes with 256 or 512GB of storage on board, which is not expandable through microSD. The Find N2 flip has a pair of stereo speakers that are quite loud, but the sound quality is just okay, with not much bass.
You can wake up and unlock the phone using the side-mounted fingerprint reader built into the power button. As an affordable phone, the Find N2 flip brings software features that you won’t find on a typical phone. For example, it has a second screen that features an always-on display by default, but when you unlock the phone, you’ll get a basic UI that includes quick toggles, notifications, the camera interface, and various widgets. The cover screen is quite customizable through settings, allowing you to switch up the looks and the widgets and even add an interactive pet.

The Camera Part
The camera performance on the Find N2 flip is excellent, with sharp details, vibrant colors, and accurate white balance. The OIS also helps keep images stable and reduces motion blur, especially in low-light conditions. The camera app is packed with features and modes, including Night mode, Portrait mode, and Pro mode, allowing you to take full control of the camera settings. The sensor used in the phone is the Sony IMX766, which is the same sensor used in the Oppo Find X3 Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro. It has an f/1.8 aperture and supports optical image stabilization (OIS) for better low-light performance and smoother video recording. The Ultra wide cam has an f/2.2 aperture and a 119-degree field of view, making it great for landscapes and group shots.
On the front, the Find N2 flip has a 32-megapixel selfie camera, which produces sharp and detailed selfies with accurate skin tones. It also has a feature called AI Beautification, which can enhance your features and smooth out your skin in real-time.
About Performance
The Oppo Find N2 Flip is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset, which is not the typical high-end Snapdragon chipset found in most flagship phones. Despite this, the Dimensity 9000 Plus is considered the top-of-the-line silicon from MediaTek, and in CPU benchmarks, the Oppo falls behind its rivals like the Galaxy Z Flip and Moto Razer 2022, which run on a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. However, in graphics tests, the Oppo Find N2 Flip does fare a bit better than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. While it may not be as powerful as other flagship phones, the Oppo Find N2 Flip’s performance is still considered flagship-grade and is more than capable of handling heavy gaming. Additionally, the thermal management on this phone is much better than its Snapdragon-equipped flip phone counterparts.
One advantage the Oppo Find N2 Flip has over the Galaxy Z Flip and the Moto Razer 2022 is its considerably larger 3000 milliamp-hour battery. In battery life tests, the Oppo Find N2 Flip earned a great endurance rating of 97 hours, which is better than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip’s endurance rating in-screen on tests, and it outperforms the rest of the competition overall. The phone supports watt charging, and it comes with a 67-watt adapter. In tests, it was able to charge from zero to 62 percent in just half an hour. Unfortunately, there is no wireless charging available on this phone.
The Conclusion
Overall, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is a powerful device that is capable of handling heavy usage with its flagship-grade performance. Its MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chipset may not be as powerful as the Snapdragon chipset found in most flagship phones, but it still delivers excellent performance. The larger battery and better thermal management make it a better choice than its rivals, and its endurance rating is one of the best in the market. While there is no wireless charging, the fast charging option is more than sufficient. The Oppo Find N2 Flip is a great choice for those looking for a powerful and reliable flip phone.
