Design and Display
Firstly, let’s discuss the positive aspect of this phone, which is its design. It has a premium appearance that even non-techy individuals would take notice of due to its subtle design, camera module, and unique color. Holding this phone would feel great because of its striking appearance.
In terms of the display, it has a top-notch, beautifully curved display, although not as impressive as Samsung phones. Nevertheless, it still looks premium with its 2K LTPO display, albeit being a first-generation LTPO. It ranges from 10Hz to 120Hz, which isn’t a significant issue, but it has an adaptive refresh rate that operates super smoothly thanks to Google’s excellent software.
Software and Sound
Pixel is well-known for its software and complete stock Android experience, which is well-balanced without any bloatware issues. This reflects when you use the device as your daily driver. It runs on the latest Android 13 January patches, ensuring timely updates. Compared to previous Pixel devices, this one has numerous features, animations, productivity tools, and much more, making it a fun device to use.
The sound quality of the Google Pixel 6 Pro is impressive and surpasses. The audio is crisp, with decent bass, and is loud enough. The multimedia experience is equally great, with no complaints while watching content. The color settings can be adjusted from the settings, and it supports HDR10, but not Dolby Vision. Additionally, the phone features Gorilla Glass Victus protection on both sides, which provides extra durability.
Camera
The camera system on the Google Pixel 6 Pro is quite impressive. It features a triple-lens rear camera setup with a primary 50-megapixel wide lens, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens. This setup allows for exceptional zoom capabilities, as well as improved low-light performance and enhanced color accuracy.
However, there are still a few areas that need improvement. For instance, the subject selection could be better, and the wide-angle lens could be wider. These are areas that require some attention to enhance the overall camera experience.
Additionally, the Pixel 6 Pro’s camera system utilizes Google’s advanced computational photography technology, which provides features like improved image stabilization, better noise reduction, and more natural-looking bokeh effects. Overall, the camera system on the Pixel 6 Pro is one of its standout features and is sure to impress even the most discerning mobile photographers.
Each camera performs its job exceptionally well, providing great clarity, color, and lighting. Overall, the camera setup on this device is fantastic.

Google Pixel 6 Pro Performance
In terms of performance, the Google Pixel 6 has a lot to offer. It comes with a new Tensor chipset that is exclusively designed for this phone. This chipset helps improve the device’s photography, videography, phone security, and overall performance. You won’t notice any lag or bugs while using this device, as the chipset works seamlessly.
While it’s not designed as a gaming phone, casual gaming is possible on this device, though it’s not exceptional. There is one drawback, which I will mention later. Here are some benchmark scores for this device.
Benchmark | Score |
---|---|
Geekbench 5 Single-Core | 1050 |
Geekbench 5 Multi-Core | 3635 |
3DMark Wild Life | 4766 |
AnTuTu v9 | 853007 |
GFXBench Manhattan 3.1 | 87 fps |
GFXBench Car Chase | 45 fps |
Google Pixel 6 Pro Battery and Features
Regarding the battery and charging, I found that the 5003 mAh battery was sufficient to last for a full day with moderate usage. The software optimization also contributed to the long battery life. For example, I played PUBG for about half an hour, and the battery percentage remained relatively stable.
However, I should mention that the original charger was not provided in the box, so it takes around two hours or more to charge the phone fully with a regular fast charger.
When it comes to features, the Google Pixel 6 Pro offers a plethora of options. The Photos app, for instance, has a wide range of features, including adaptive charging, screen lock and unlock transition animation, and always-on display. The camera also has several features, such as cinematic video, action pen, astrophotography, and transcribing while recording.
Additionally, the device includes a few Pixel-exclusive features like the Dualab app protection. While some of these features can also be found in other Android devices, the Pixel 6 Pro’s unique capabilities make it stand out.

Google Pixel 6 Pro Drawbacks
Now it’s time to discuss some of the drawbacks I encountered while using this phone. First of all, heating is a major issue with this device. Even during normal usage, such as browsing social media or scrolling through web pages, the phone heats up noticeably. This is especially true when multiple apps are running in the background or when the phone is used continuously for several hours.
The heating is concentrated mainly at the back of the device, and it can become quite uncomfortable to hold. Although the phone cools down quickly after such usage, the heating issue is a significant drawback of this phone.
I have also noticed some bugs and lagging in the home screen. Sometimes apps crash, and the phone hangs only on the home screen, which is quite strange.
Another significant drawback of this phone is the absence of call recording. Even though most phones nowadays come with Google Dialer, which has the call recording feature, this phone restricts the call recording option entirely. This can be a significant disadvantage in certain circumstances.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Google Pixel 6 Pro is a powerful and impressive device that delivers a great experience in many aspects. It offers excellent performance with its Tensor chipset and boasts a fantastic camera system that captures stunning photos and videos.
However, it does have some drawbacks that should be considered, such as heating issues and occasional bugs in the home screen. Additionally, the device lacks a call recording option and may not be easy to find accessories for.
Overall, the Pixel 6 Pro is a solid choice for those looking for a high-end smartphone with great features, but users should be aware of its limitations before making a purchase.
