Pros
Design
The Aspire series has something classic and professional design language. This laptop doesn’t weigh more nor less it is between mid. Its design language doesn’t sound gaming laptop because it has a mid-processor but an entry-level GPU.
It has basic FHD display with 45% NTSC color gamut. Previously it was launced with 60HZ but recently it is launced with 144HZ option. You will have same display quality as 1lakh laptops have.

Upgradability
The Acer Aspire 7 has a good upgradable option for both RAM and Storage. It comes with 8GB of RAM as a base model which can be upgradable up to 32GB RAM. Also 512GB of SSD option which can be upgradable up to 2TB.
That means you will have no problem in the future with the upgradability option. Now a day, it’s recommended to have 16GB of RAM for a smoother workflow.
Good weight management
This laptop has good weight management compared to the same segment. It has the same specs but the weight is not so light as compared to some laptops. Its lid can be opened with one hand which is the best example of good weight management.
Ports
It has all the necessary ports which might be missing from some laptops. As for the ports, such as USB 3.2, USB Type-C, and HDMI ports. Both sides of the laptop are covered with 3xUSB 3.2, 1xUSB Type-C, 1xHDMI, 1xHeadphone Jack, and 1xRJ-45 port.
Some Additional Features
- Fingerprint reader support.
- 1 Year international traveling warranty.
- Hybrid laptop for professionals as well as for gamers.
Cons
Gaming
It can run almost all games but not all games. I mean it can run old games at high settings but newer games at low settings. It might handle newer games but not all games. Some games are required high VRAM which might not be possible to run games with only 4GB VRAM.
While Nvidia GTX 1650 4GB and RTX 3050 are 1080P level GPU but when it comes higher VRAM requirement both GPU are not able to handle for highest setting gaming. But RTX 3050 have higher clock speed and RT cores which become more advanced.
Mid-Processor
It has Intel core i5 1240P processor which is not a proper gaming laptop. It is not the weakest one in its lineup but it is in between mid. You can estimate by 12500H>1240P>1235U.
Average battery life
It might be not a con for some people. But if you are someone who is looking for good battery life then look for evo platform laptops. I have an article on the best all-around laptop for good battery life – Top 5 Laptops: Best For All Round Performance.
You will get an average of 4-5 hours of battery life on normal usage. And on gaming, it might be 1-2 hours of battery backup.
Some More Cons
- The laptop doesn’t open at 180 degrees.
- No MS Office included.
- No Xbox Game Pass
- Below average speakers
- No privacy Sutter
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Acer Aspire 7 (2023) Core i5 12th Gen impressively bridges the gap between professional work and casual gaming. Priced at Rs 49,990, it offers a competitive starting point for a versatile computing experience. The laptop’s design, though not overtly gaming-focused, strikes a balance that caters to a wider audience.
With options for GTX 1650 and RTX 3050 graphics, it handles older games well but struggles with high VRAM-demanding new titles due to its 4GB VRAM limitation. The Intel Core i5 12th Gen processor provides decent performance for both work and play but isn’t top-tier for gaming.
Overall, the Acer Aspire 7 (2023) Core i5 12th Gen offers a balanced package catering to diverse needs, making it a worthwhile choice for those seeking a versatile laptop.
